Brekker’s Ballad

Beige and red,
black and blue.
Every throbbing disgusting hue.

Every limp
dragging kill.
Dysmorphic dripping coraline.

Every crawl
standing tall
judged by a god so know-it-all.

Gods concur;
they compete
to sail the sails; a golden fleet.

Gift of kiss,
a kiss’s weak.
My soul, your soul’s afraid to keep.

Eyes on prize.
Prized escape.
Damaged ears hear of scheming face.

Six of crows.
Claws like kin.
Refuse t’learn victory’s sin.

(This is based on Kaz Brekker, a fictional character from Leigh Bardugo’s “Six of Crows”. Fanfiction.)
